This is a Korean fiction translated into English. The reason I chose this book. In recent years K-Drama, K-Pop, and movies have become popular. Around the world translation efforts are booming and the market for translations is increasing. I find universal features that appeal to the readers across globe.

Let me share my thoughts.

In this book, the author introduces various characters in each chapter. In the end, what connects them is the summary.

An elderly widower lives in a house that in that area is the only house otherwise surrounded by apartments. His son and daughter-in-law want him to raise the apartment in prime property. Due to his attachment to his house due to the memories associated, he refuses and so this raises issues between father and son conflict. He visits the nearest Laundromat. What happens there he meets several characters and ends with a happy ending before taking the reader into emotions that one enjoys reading.

Why I liked this book

People with urban life how it is changing the value system. In this environment where is the place for memories, emotional bonding, and human connection?
