February readings contain fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and a graphic novel. Some of the books are children’s literature. The books cover the areas of nature, birds, the environment, and historical fiction. The list contains signed copies of the writers. I read English and Telugu books. Some of the books are translated from the Bengali, Spanish, and Tamil languages.
Books that I enjoyed reading
The bookseller of Mogga by Anand Suspi - This book is about the passion for books and how the idea of selling books makes a boy try his idea in a small village. How the time changes and what happens in the end is the story. Touching story.
Icchamati Theerana by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay - this is the story of a village in Bengal during famine. A well-translated book.
P.N.K. Panicker’s Ghost Stories by Suresh Eriyat - A graphic book about ghost stories that are told by the writer’s father.
Vaadivaasal: The Arenaby C.S. Chellappa - This text from Tamil is done by Perumal Murugan for the graphic book. The book is about Jallikattu a practice in certain parts of Tamil Nadu.
Hitler's Canary by Sandi Toksvig - This book is about a family who try and save the Jews during World War II in Denmark.
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón - This is translated from the Spanish Language. The book is about a boy who tries to look for the author of a book. What that leads is the story.
